How to Set up PayID Commbank

PayID is a convenient way to make and receive payments without sharing sensitive information. Setting up PayID with Commbank offers additional advantages and functionalities. Let’s explore how to set it up effectively.

  1. Open the CommBank app on your mobile device.
  2. From the homepage, select “Pay someone.”
  3. If the recipient’s PayID is a mobile number:
  • Choose the “Mobile number” option.
  • Locate the person you want to pay from your phonebook or press the “+” sign to enter their mobile number.
  • If their mobile number has been registered as a PayID, the logo will display alongside their chosen PayID name.
  • If this is the person you want to pay, tap “OK.”
  1. If the recipient’s PayID is an email address, Landline number, ABN/ACN, or Organisation ID:
  2. Select the “+” sign in the top right-hand corner.
  3. From the menu of options, click “more.”
  4. Locate the PayID type you would like to pay to and enter the details provided, such as their email address.
  5. If this has been registered as a PayID, the logo will display alongside their chosen PayID name.
  6. If this is the person you want to pay, click “proceed.”
  7. Enter the amount you want to pay and provide a description in the 280-character field.
  8. Confirm your payment.
  9. The person you’re transferring money to will be able to see the payment in the transaction history of the account linked to their PayID.
  10. Note that if you’ve previously paid money to this account, the payment will appear in less than a minute. However, for first-time payments to a new payee, there may be a hold of up to 24 hours as a security measure.
